La efem\u00e9ride recuerda un suceso tr\u00e1gico ocurrido en 1884, en el barrio porte\u00f1o\u00a0La Boca.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"detail-body second-paragraph\">\n<section class=\"body-content note-body content-protected-false\">En ese entonces un vecino de la zona,\u00a0<strong>Tom\u00e1s Libertti organiz\u00f3 una cadena humana para apagar las llamas en un edificio del lugar.<\/strong>\u00a0Luego de apagar el\u00a0incendio\u00a0Liberti convoc\u00f3 a un grupo de vecinos crear un cuerpo de\u00a0bomberos\u00a0en el barrio de la Boca. Las casas all\u00ed estaban construidas de zinc y madera y sol\u00edan provocarse incendios.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Libertti se convirti\u00f3 en el Comandante del primer Cuerpo de Bomberos Voluntarios del pa\u00eds, creado el 2 de junio y cuya sede fue constituida en la calle Brandsen al 567.\u00a0<\/strong>Su lema era \u00abquerer es poder\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Pronto se multiplicaron las sociedades de bomberos en las ciudades de Ensenada, San Fernando, Avellaneda, Lomas de Zamora y Tigre y luego en el resto del pa\u00eds. Los comandos de bomberos estaban formados por civiles.<\/p>\n<p>El 14 de noviembre de 1884 enfrentaron su primer incendio como cuerpo de bomberos. Fue en una f\u00e1brica de velas en Barracas.
