Sarmiento considerado el \u00abpadre de la educaci\u00f3n p\u00fablica\u00bb<\/figcaption><\/figure><figcaption><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>En 1943, pese a que se celebr\u00f3 la<strong>\u00a0Primera Conferencia de Ministros y Directores de\u00a0Educaci\u00f3n\u00a0de las Rep\u00fablicas Americanas<\/strong>, celebrada en\u00a0<strong>Panam\u00e1<\/strong>, fue\u00a0<strong>en 1945 que se adopt\u00f3 en la Argentina, por decreto del entonces presidente argentino, Edelmiro Farrell\u00a0<\/strong>el 11 de septiembre como D\u00eda del Maestro para todo el continente americano en honor al fallecimiento de Sarmiento,\u00a0pero tambi\u00e9n en reconocimiento a la importancia que implica el trabajo y disposici\u00f3n de todos los maestros que d\u00eda a d\u00eda realizan su trabajo en las escuelas.<\/p>\n<p>Algunos de los pasajes de la\u00a0<strong>Resoluci\u00f3n Oficial<\/strong>\u00a0de aquella Conferencia indican la importancia de la actividad docente, ya que se trata de\u00a0<strong>\u201cuna actividad fundamental de la\u00a0escuela\u00a0la educaci\u00f3n de los sentimientos, por cuyo motivo<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>no debe olvidarse que entre ellos figura en primer plano la gratitud y la devoci\u00f3n debidas al maestro de la escuela primaria.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>En\u00a0<strong>Bolivia<\/strong>, por ejemplo, el D\u00eda del Maestro se celebra el 6 de junio. En esa fecha del a\u00f1o 1909 se fund\u00f3 la primera<strong>\u00a0Escuela de Maestros<\/strong>. En el caso de\u00a0<strong>Brasil<\/strong>, el 15 de octubre, porque el\u00a0<strong>Emperador Don Pedro 1\u00b0<\/strong>\u00a0de Brasil estableci\u00f3, en esa fecha de 1827, que deb\u00edan instalarse\u00a0<strong>Escuelas de Primeras Letras<\/strong>\u00a0en todas las ciudades del Imperio.<\/p>\n<p>En el caso de\u00a0<strong>Colombia<\/strong>, el 15 de mayo, para conmemorar que esa fecha, pero de 1950, el\u00a0<strong>Papa P\u00edo XII<\/strong>\u00a0proclam\u00f3 a\u00a0<strong>San Juan Bautista<\/strong>\u00a0como\u00a0<strong>\u201cPatrono Celestial de Todos los Educadores.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-align: center;\">Para <\/span><strong style=\"text-align: center;\">Cuba<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: center;\">, el 22 de diciembre de 1961, hab\u00edan transcurrido casi tres a\u00f1os desde la Revoluci\u00f3n y se hab\u00eda realizado un intenso trabajo vinculado con la educaci\u00f3n de los sectores populares. El 22 de diciembre de ese a\u00f1o\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"text-align: center;\">Fidel Castro<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0pudo declarar que Cuba era un territorio libre de analfabetismo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>En\u00a0<strong>Espa\u00f1a<\/strong>, el 27 de noviembre, se recuerda a\u00a0<strong>San Jos\u00e9 de Calasanz<\/strong>\u00a0el 25 de agosto. Este santo se destac\u00f3 en tareas vinculadas con la educaci\u00f3n a principios del siglo XVII, y por eso en el sistema educativo se lo considera patrono de los maestros. Su fiesta se traslad\u00f3 al mes de noviembre.<\/p>\n<p>En el caso de\u00a0<strong>Per\u00fa<\/strong>, el 6 de julio, porque ese d\u00eda, en 1822,\u00a0<strong>Jos\u00e9 de San Mart\u00edn<\/strong>\u00a0fund\u00f3 la primera\u00a0<strong>Escuela Normal<\/strong>\u00a0del pa\u00eds, que era solo para varones.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La fecha de celebraci\u00f3n se atribuye al fallecimiento de Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, considerado el padre del aula.
