La FIFA eligi\u00f3 a la Esfera de Las Vegas para recibir la ceremonia el viernes 5 de diciembre de 2025<\/strong>, fecha donde se dar\u00e1 a conocer el camino de los 48 participantes, que se dividir\u00e1n en 12 grupos de cuatro equipos. El inicio a las actividades de un torneo que tendr\u00e1 16avos de final, elevando la cantidad m\u00e1xima de encuentros a ocho partidos.<\/p>\n

El recinto elegido es uno de los m\u00e1s modernos de todo el mundo,\u00a0reconocido por su pantalla LED que envuelve la totalidad del exterior del mismo y con la capacidad de albergar a 17.600 espectadores<\/strong>. Una sede elegida por su gran potencial tur\u00edstico, pese a que\u00a0Las Vegas no forma parte de las ciudades seleccionadas dentro de Estados Unidos para recibir encuentros<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Las actividades de la Copa del Mundo iniciar\u00e1 el 11 de junio de 2026 en el estadio Azteca de M\u00e9xico<\/strong>, el camino a\u00a0la gran final que se disputar\u00e1 el 19 de julio en MetLife Stadium<\/strong>, ubicado en\u00a0East Rutherford, Nueva Jersey, dentro del \u00e1rea metropolitana de Nueva York<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Son 13 las selecciones que ya tienen la mente puesta en el Mundial 2026, en especial la Selecci\u00f3n Argentina<\/strong>, que consigui\u00f3 su boleto hace varias fechas y solo deber\u00e1 esperar el sorteo, al asegurar su presencia para defender su corona con varias fechas de antelaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Adem\u00e1s de la Albiceleste, Brasil y Ecuador tambi\u00e9n se aseguraron su participaci\u00f3n en el certamen m\u00e1s importante a trav\u00e9s de Conmebol<\/strong>, pero tendr\u00e1n que esperar un tiempo para conocer a los rivales en la fase de grupos. A la hora del sorteo no estar\u00e1n definidos la totalidad de los participantes<\/strong>, dado que los repechajes se disputar\u00e1n en\u00a0marzo del pr\u00f3ximo a\u00f1o<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    C\u00f3mo ser\u00e1 el formato de juego del Mundial 2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    Debido a que se ampliar\u00e1\u00a0de 32 a 48 la cantidad de seleccionados participantes<\/strong>, el formato ser\u00e1 el mismo que se viene utilizando, con la necesidad de utilizar una fase m\u00e1s de eliminaci\u00f3n directa: los 16avos de final.<\/p>\n

    Los participantes se dividir\u00e1n en 12 grupos de cuatro<\/strong>. La FIFA suele implementar restricciones para evitar que equipos de la misma confederaci\u00f3n queden emparejados en el mismo grupo, a excepci\u00f3n de la UEFA, que tiene muchos clasificados, y\u00a0los cabezas de serie de cada zona ser\u00e1n, como siempre, Estados Unidos, M\u00e9xico y Canad\u00e1 junto con los mejores del ranking FIFA<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
